What keywords does your website rank for?

Enter any website address and see the searches it already turns up for on Google, with positions and monthly volumes.

It works on your own site or a competitor's and needs no account. Every figure is labelled with where it came from: these are third-party ranking estimates, which is a different thing from the exact record your own Google Search Console keeps.

Free, no account. Third-party ranking estimates, always labelled as such.

Questions people ask

How do I find out what keywords my website ranks for?
Enter your address in the box above. We ask a third-party index which searches already show your site and return them with positions and monthly volumes. For the complete picture, including the searches too small or too new for any third-party index, connect your own Google Search Console, which records every search that showed your site.
Can I check what keywords a competitor ranks for?
Yes. The check works on any public website, so putting a rival's address in shows the searches they turn up for. Comparing their list against yours is the quickest way to find phrases you should be covering and are not.
Is this keyword checker really free?
Yes, and with no account. There is a limit on how many checks one visitor can run in an hour, because each one costs us a small amount at the data provider, but there is nothing to sign up for and no card involved.
Why does my website show no keywords?
Third-party indexes only record sites that already appear reasonably high for a search, so newer sites, small sites and those whose customers arrive by other routes often show nothing. It does not mean your site is invisible or broken. Your own Search Console will show searches that no third-party index has, which is why connecting it is the sensible next step.
What is a good position to rank in?
Anything in the top three collects most of the clicks, positions four to ten collect much less, and page two collects almost none. That is why searches sitting between eleven and twenty are the most valuable ones to work on: they are close enough that a modest improvement moves them onto page one.
Where does this keyword data come from?
A licensed third-party ranking index, which is an estimate built from the provider's own crawling of search results rather than from your website. It is labelled that way everywhere it appears. First-party data from your Google Search Console account is exact by comparison, and Sondavo keeps the two clearly separated.
