Quick verdict
Searchable is a specialist built for AI search: 100 tracked prompts per model on its $125 entry plan, up to nine assistants, plus content tooling and an agent. Sondavo tracks five questions across four assistants, and spends the rest of its effort on Google rankings, Search Console history and a technical crawl. If AI visibility is the job, Searchable is the deeper product.

What is Sondavo?
Sondavo reads one website and tells its owner, in plain English, where it stands. It connects to your Google Search Console account, so the figures for your own site are Google’s own rather than an estimate of them; it crawls your pages against eighteen named fault types and explains each one with the pages affected; it produces a ranked list of opportunities from your own data and measures what happens when you act on one; and from the £49 plan it asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity the questions you approve and records who they name.
Plans are £0, £19, £49 and £149 a month in sterling, billed monthly. Eight tools are published free with no account and no card, and they run on any address including one you do not own. There is no research index behind Sondavo, and it does not claim one: the features page lists only what is built today.
What you actually get
What a Sondavo report looks like
The free check on any address, with no account. This one is our own site.

AI answers are one half of the question. The free check shows the other half: the searches your site already turns up for on Google, the page ranking for each, and the ones just outside page one. No account, no card, and nothing to install.
What is Searchable?
Searchable is an answer engine optimisation platform, built for AI search from the start rather than added to an SEO suite. It tracks how often a brand is named and cited in AI answers, reports share of voice against rivals, audits pages for AI readiness, generates content aimed at being quoted, and puts an agent on top that answers questions about your own data. It is a UK company, registered in London.
Pricing is in US dollars and billed monthly, with 20% off for annual billing. Pro is $125 a month for 100 tracked prompts per model and 200 audits; Scale is $400 for 500 prompts per model, 1,000 audits, white-label reports, Looker Studio and API access; Enterprise is $999 for 1,250 prompts per model. A Custom tier adds all models, daily tracking and single sign-on. There is a 14-day trial with no card required, and no ongoing free plan.
Engine coverage needs reading carefully, because their own pricing page says two things. The plan comparison lists nine answer engines, ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot, DeepSeek, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Grok and Claude, selected at onboarding on every paid tier. The FAQ further down the same page describes Copilot, Claude and Grok as custom add-ons and DeepSeek as a Custom-plan integration. We have not resolved that, and have not assumed the reading that flatters either of us.

Is Sondavo a Searchable alternative?
Only for some of the people asking. It is worth being direct about which, because the two products overlap far less than the category label suggests.
If you are looking for a cheaper way to do what Searchable does, Sondavo is not it. Searchable's entry plan tracks 100 prompts per model. Sondavo tracks five approved questions across four assistants, with further five-question packs at £15 a month. That is not a discount on the same thing; it is a different order of magnitude, and no amount of framing makes five prompts a substitute for a hundred.
If you are looking at Searchable because you know you have a visibility problem and AI monitoring is the part you have heard of, Sondavo is a real alternative and probably the better first purchase. Most sites still get most of their visitors from Google search, and Sondavo spends its effort there: your own Search Console history, discovered rankings, a technical crawl against eighteen named faults, competitor standings, and an opportunity list built from your own data. AI monitoring sits inside that from £49 a month rather than being the whole bill.
And if the honest answer is that you do not yet know whether assistants mention you at all, neither product is the place to start. The free check costs nothing and answers that question in a minute.
AI visibility: where Searchable is simply ahead
This is their category and they are better at it. The numbers are not close and there is no useful way to present them as if they were.
Prompt volume: 100 tracked prompts per model on Pro at $125, rising to 500 on Scale and 1,250 on Enterprise. Sondavo includes five approved questions per monitored site. If you want a broad prompt set watched, that decision is already made.
Engine coverage: Searchable names nine answer engines including Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Sondavo asks four, and has neither of Google's. For a brand whose customers see AI answers inside Google search results, that is a gap on our side that no other feature makes up for.
Tooling: Content Studio, prompt intelligence, an agent that answers questions about your own data, AI readiness audits sold by volume, and an MCP endpoint. Sondavo reports what was said, who was named, which pages were cited, and which of your pages to improve or create as a result. That is enough to act on. It is not an AEO department.
Where Sondavo differs rather than loses: every answer is stored verbatim with its date, the businesses named and the pages cited, so you read the assistant's actual words rather than a score derived from them. Searchable does not publish whether it retains full answer text, so we have not marked that either way.
Everything Searchable does not do
The case for Sondavo is not that it is a better AI visibility tool. It is that AI visibility is one of six things a site needs watched, and Searchable covers one and a half of them.
Google Search Console history. Sondavo's primary source is your own Google data: every search that showed your site, the position you held and what moved, up to sixteen months imported and then retained beyond Google's own window. Searchable's own comparison pages describe a native Analytics and Search Console integration, but it is not a line item on their plan table, so which tiers include it and how deep it goes is not stated.
Google rankings and keyword data. Which searches you appear for, what is rising toward page one, and the same for an address you do not own. Searchable does not sell a keyword or traffic index and does not claim to.
A technical crawl in SEO terms. Both products audit pages, but they are auditing for different things. Searchable scores pages for AI readiness and sells that by volume. Sondavo crawls against eighteen named fault types, broken links, duplicate titles, canonical mismatches, redirect chains and the rest, explains each in plain English, and lists the affected pages ordered by the clicks they currently earn.
Backlinks and competitor standings in Google results. Neither is part of Searchable.
Free access. Eight tools that need no account and run on any address, plus a free plan on one site you own. Searchable's free visibility report is genuinely ungated, which is more than most of this category offers, but it is one report and there is no ongoing free plan behind it.
Pricing, and what the gap actually buys
Searchable publishes in US dollars, Sondavo in sterling, so these are printed as published and not converted. Searchable Pro is $125 a month, Scale $400, Enterprise $999, with 20% off annual billing. Sondavo is £0, £19, £49 and £149 a month, billed monthly with no annual commitment.
Per prompt watched, Searchable is the cheaper product. Pro at $125 for 100 prompts per model works out at $1.25 each; Sondavo Professional at £49 for five questions is £9.80 each. If prompts are what you are buying, that arithmetic is decisive and it is not in our favour.
The £49 plan is not buying prompts, though. It is buying Search Console analysis, discovered rankings, a daily crawl, competitor standings, an opportunity list with before-and-after measurement, backlink verification and API access, with AI monitoring included. Two of those, white-label reporting and API access, sit on Searchable's $400 Scale plan.
So the honest comparison is not cheaper against dearer. It is a specialist priced like a specialist against a generalist priced for a single site. Somebody paying $125 a month to watch a hundred prompts and getting value from it should keep doing that.
The case for running both
This is the pairing in the set where running both makes the most sense, because the overlap is genuinely small.
Searchable answers what the assistants say about you, across a wide prompt set and many engines, and helps you write for them. Sondavo answers where you stand in Google, what is technically broken, which searches are worth work, and who is above you, using your own first-party data.
The obvious objection is that both then charge you for AI monitoring. That is fair, and the answer is to drop to Sondavo's £19 Starter plan, which has no AI monitoring in it at all, and let Searchable do that half. Nothing on this page depends on you paying us for the thing they do better.
Where Searchable beats Sondavo
Every comparison on this site carries this section. If we could not fill it honestly, the comparison would not be worth publishing.
01Prompt volume, by twenty to one100 tracked prompts per model on the $125 entry plan against Sondavo's five questions per monitored site. If you are running AI visibility as a programme rather than answering a question, this alone settles it.
02More assistants, including both of Google'sUp to nine named engines, with Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode among them. Sondavo asks four and has neither. On our own monitoring data, showing how rarely assistants agree, that extra coverage is worth real money.
03Built for AI search from the startPrompt intelligence, an agent over your own data, content generation aimed at being cited, and AEO audits sold by volume. Sondavo added AI monitoring to a search product; Searchable started there, and it shows in the depth.
04Cheaper per prompt watched$1.25 per tracked prompt on Pro against £9.80 per question on Sondavo Professional. Compared within the thing both products sell, they are considerably better value.
05Scale features we do not haveLooker Studio, an MCP endpoint, multi-region and multi-language tracking, and a Custom tier with daily tracking and single sign-on. Sondavo tops out at a published fifty sites and fifteen seats.
Where Sondavo has the advantage
01Google search, which still sends most of the visitorsSearch Console history to sixteen months, discovered rankings, opportunities with before-and-after measurement, and competitor standings in Google results. Searchable sells none of that, and for most sites it is still where the traffic is.
02A technical crawl in SEO termsEighteen named fault types explained for a non-specialist, with affected pages ordered by the clicks they earn. Searchable audits pages for AI readiness, which is a different question with a different answer.
03A real free tier, not a trialEight tools that need no account and run on any address, plus a free plan on one site you own that does not expire. Searchable's free report is ungated and genuinely useful, but behind it is a 14-day trial rather than a free plan.
04Reachable on a small budget, in sterling£19 a month for one site, £49 with AI monitoring included, billed monthly with no annual commitment and no dollar exchange. Searchable starts at $125.
05API and reporting without a $400 planAPI access is on Sondavo's £49 Professional plan and white-label reports on the £149 Agency plan. Both sit on Searchable's $400 Scale tier.
Which should you choose?
Find the line that describes you. Several of them point at Searchable.
AI search visibility is somebody's job and you track dozens of prompts
Searchable. Prompt volume and engine coverage are the product, and we do not compete on either.
Your customers see answers inside Google AI Overviews or AI Mode
Searchable. Both are on their list and neither is on ours.
You want content written and audited for AI citation, not just measured
Searchable. Content Studio and the agent are built for that and Sondavo has no equivalent.
Google search still sends most of your visitors and you have not audited it properly
Sondavo. Search Console analysis, a technical crawl and a ranked opportunity list, from £19 a month.
You want to know whether assistants mention you at all, before committing a budget
Sondavo, or the free check. That question does not warrant $125 a month to answer.
You already run Searchable and your Google performance is unwatched
Both, and Sondavo Starter at £19 has no AI monitoring in it, so you would not pay twice for the same thing.
Answer it on your own site first
Before paying anyone, including us: the free check reads Google for any address you give it, and the eight free tools run without an account. Neither asks for a card.
Common questions
- Is Sondavo a Searchable alternative?
- For the Google search half of the problem, yes, and Searchable does not cover that at all. As a cheaper way to do what Searchable does, no: their entry plan tracks 100 prompts per model and Sondavo tracks five questions. Those are different products at different depths, not the same product at different prices.
- How much does Searchable cost?
- Pro is $125 a month for 100 tracked prompts per model and 200 audits, Scale is $400 for 500 prompts and white-label reports, and Enterprise is $999 for 1,250 prompts. Annual billing takes 20% off. There is a 14-day trial and no free plan. Read from Searchable's pricing page on 30 August 2026.
- Is there a cheaper alternative to Searchable?
- Cheaper is easy; equivalent is not. Sondavo starts at £19 a month and includes AI monitoring from £49, but with five questions across four assistants rather than a hundred prompts across nine. If the prompt count is what you need, a cheaper tool will not deliver it, and we would rather say so than sell you a shortfall.
- Which AI assistants does each one cover?
- Sondavo asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity on every plan that includes monitoring. Searchable names nine, including Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, selected at onboarding, though its own FAQ describes Copilot, Claude and Grok as custom add-ons, so the number on the entry plan is not stated unambiguously.
- Does Searchable do traditional SEO?
- Not in the sense of keyword research, rank tracking or backlinks, none of which it sells. It does audit pages, but for AI readiness rather than as a classic technical SEO crawl, and it describes a Google Analytics and Search Console integration on its comparison pages without listing it on the plan table.
- Can I use both?
- This is the pairing where that makes most sense, because the overlap is small. Searchable for the AI answers, Sondavo for Google performance and technical health. To avoid paying twice for AI monitoring, take Sondavo's £19 Starter plan, which does not include it.

Search breadth against AI reach
The two axes that separate these products, both counted from published facts rather than judged. Sondavo and Semrush land on exactly the same point, which is the useful part: on raw capability they are close, and what separates them is price, currency and everything one of them does outside search.
